So, Pak Gusto brought in some more of his masks to class yesterday, including some rubber Commedia half masks.
I came across a design I can't quite get me head around: The Noseless Mask.
It looks so bizarre, I will have to get inside one and put up some pictures. This one, which has quite striking eyebrows, looked a little like a Persian cat woman when worn (it makes your nostrils quite prominent).
I have no idea where the tradition comes from, whether from Bali or Italy, it seems so strange to have a half mask with cheeks but no nose. If you have any resources about them, please let me know.
